Finn-Power Oy was established in 1969 in Finland and became part of the Prima Power brand following its merger with the Prima Industrie Group. Custom manufacturing solutions in sheet metal processing industry

As digitalization advances in the manufacturing sector and customer demands for faster production grow, Finn-Power’s machines are evolving into automated production systems with modular manufacturing blocks. Finn-Power frequently delivers custom manufacturing lines that are integrated with other machinery, such as Vaski coil lines. These flexible manufacturing systems are complex, comprising various modules that must be tailored to meet diverse customer requirements. Consequently, Finn-Power faces the challenge of seamlessly integrating different production technologies on the factory floor and achieving configurable sheet metal factories in a cost-effective manner.

Through the Industry X project, Finn-Power aims to explore ways to enhance the modularization of scalable and tailored autonomous sheet metal factories. The company seeks to leverage AI, 5G, and edge computing solutions to improve the monitoring of critical processes, enhance factory floor visibility, and boost situational awareness.

Industrial metaverse applications in sheet metal working

Recently, there has been growing interest in digital twins and metaverse applications within the industrial sector. However, it remains unclear how machine tool manufacturers like Finn-Power can unlock the business potential of digital twins and the metaverse.

Finn-Power is now focused on defining the concept of the industrial metaverse within the context of sheet metal processing and exploring various use cases throughout the product lifecycle, including applications during both the sales phase and after-sales.
